Comments: The "torcas" are circular collapses of the terrain, like mineshafts, with vertical stone walls and in the bottom there are brushwood, pine trees and sometimes hazel trees. There are about fifty of these "torcas" over an area of 5 or 6 square km. and they have different sizes, from 40 to 500 m across and up to 100 m deep. Their geological origin comes the erosion of the underground waters that, along the time, have been attacking the limestone till getting to an external, strong and impermeable layer that has collapsed because of the too little support.
