Massif of Teno

Massif of Teno
Picture of a gorge taken in/from the massif of Teno (Tenerife - Spain)
Date: Oct-2006
Camera: Sony DSC-H5
Comments: The massif of Teno is one of the three rocky formations (paleoislands) from which Tenerife was originated. It is located in the north-west of the island between the municipalties of Santiago del Teide, los Silos, El Tanque and Buenavista. The volcanic relief, 5 to 7 million years old, is furrowed by deep gorges and ends suddenly in the sea, in the area know as the cliff of Los Gigantes, a series of high precipices reaching the 500 meters of height.
