Information

Update August 19, 2024: Luc, F5RAV, announced over night (on X.com) that the TY5C Benin DXpedition for the CQWW DX SSB Contest has been postponed. However, dates for Gerard, F5NVF, going to TY5C (CE & FT8) will be given soon!


Update August 6, 2024: Operators will be Gerard/F5NVF and Luc/F5RAV. They will be heading back to Benin in October. Gerard is expected to stay there until March 2025, while Luc will only be there until the end of the CQWW DX SSB Contest (about two weeks). There is a chance that Giovanni/IX2DPX "may" join them, it is not certain. Activity will be holiday style on 80-10 meters using CW, SSB and FT8.

Update August 5, 2024: Luc F5RAV informs via “X” that a new DXpedition to Benin will take place sometime from October 2024 to February 2025.

More details when available.


Update March 15, 2024: The complete team is now in Benin and activity also begins on SSB


Update March 8, 2024: Over 12,000 QSO in the log with an upload to LoTW taken place earlier today.


Update March 3, 2024: Just to clarify that F5NVF will be operating solo as TY5C from March 3 to 14 (SSB & CW), then 7X2TT & F5RAV will join him from March 14 to 29. Up to 4 stations running after the 14th, including FT8 and SATs.

Information from TY5C Team: We will need your help & support to create there local ham radio station as TY0HQ to help locals to get to our great hobby !!


F5RAV, F5NVFand 7X2TT will be QRV as TY5C from Benin in March 2024.
They will be active on HF Bands, CW, SSB, FT8 and also via satellites.
